OmniHealth is a place to keep your own health story — and to bring in the people who help you look after it. Here’s what that means, in plain language.
Think of OmniHealth as a health journal that belongs to you. You decide what goes in it, and you decide who gets to see it — a family member, a carer, a doctor, a physio. You can share a little or a lot, and you can change your mind at any time.
Because it’s built around you, we call it a personal health record. That’s different from the official records a hospital or GP surgery keeps about you — and the difference is worth understanding.
Your official medical record is kept by your healthcare providers, under their own rules and safeguards. It’s the source of truth for formal things like referrals, prescriptions and treatment decisions.
OmniHealth sits alongside that. It’s where you keep track of what matters to you and share it with the people you choose. If a professional ever needs something official, their record — not your journal — is the authority. Keeping the two clear protects you: your journal stays flexible and fully under your control, without the constraints that bind a clinical record.
When you invite a health professional in, they can see what you’ve shared and may add their own notes. Those notes are their professional input — helpful context, but always something to talk through with them directly. Any decision about your care should be made with a qualified professional, not from the app alone.
